Healing and Shamanic Practice

I have always had a calling to do healing work. I was interested in the “old way” when I was a kid reading folklore and experiencing my own energy and dreams, each new experience lead me to the next. I always knew there was more than we could see with our eyes. I’ve listed below a few of the ways that I do healing work, but first I want to address what healing is.

What is healing?

Healing is about achieving a new balance. Our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies work to create some kind of balance. All of these have their own innate wisdom and through accessing this wisdom we can make new connections and patterns to create a new balance. I bring in energy and offer my perspective, but in the end my client is responsible for allowing the healing to happen. In the healing experience I help the client create the opportunity for healing to occur. Healing occurs when you are open to change. My healing practice helps in that process and helps my client achieve their goals.

Healing Art

I have been experimenting with creating healing art images. My Healing Hands series was the beginning of exploration of combining energy and art together. Creating an image that can be meditated on and a focusing tools for healing has been a part of my art experience since I was a child.

BodyTalk

Certified Practitioner , BodyTalk , 2004 — 2005

Certified Practitioner in BodyTalk Module 1 and 2. Also Certifed in BodyTalk Access, 2008.

Reiki

Master certification , Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki, 2000 – 2001

• Organized and lead public lectures on Reiki and it’s benefits and uses.
• Assist in teaching 2 Reiki level 1 and 2 Reiki Level 2 classes.
• Completed a year long apprenticeship, with master project and teacher observation of me working with clients.

Registered Karuna Reiki Master , 2001

Other

West has had training in working with stones and crystals in healing work. West also has had many years of training and teaching shamanic journeying, a trance method used to travel in a dream like state and retrieve information and/or receive healing and guidance.

Massage

(I do not offer massage at this time due to move and changes in state laws.)
Certification , Clinical Massage , 2002 — 2003 at Blue Heron Academy in Michigan.

Successfully complete 600+ hours of training and passed the national board certification for clinical massage therapist. Worked 80 hour internship, 40 hours in the schools center and 40 hours at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Received certification in Herbalism in 2004.
